In the world of online financial analysis and advice there is a notoriously large amount of bad information. The safe, practical side to investing has been covered thoroughly and doesn’t drive much in the way of new traffic, meaning hot stock tips and strategies that are frequently misrepresented or, at least, poorly thought out are the real attention getters. Two of my favorite channels find a way to balance real financial advice and analysis with hot-button topics that can keep me engaged for the duration of their videos. If you’re looking for realistic takes on financial matters with a good dose of entertainment built in please allow me to introduce you to The Plain Bagel and Coffeezilla.
The Plain Bagel
The Plain Bagel gives you exactly what he promises- clear, concise takes on financial topics without a lot of fluff or salesmanship. This alone makes the channel a breath of fresh air in the sea of clickbait titles and overcaffeinated hosts, but this channel is very good about staying up to date on important topics like (at the time of this writing) Trump’s tariffs. Rather than rehash cliches and talk about the benefits of a 401k, The Plain Bagel applies sound financial insight to real-world scenarios in a way that keeps the topic fresh and interesting while maintaining a high level of credibility. For those interested in a bit more lighthearted content, the channel also reacts to TikTok financial advice with the results being exactly what you would expect.

Coffeezilla
Coffeezilla is much nearer the “entertainment” side of the equation as opposed to the “sound advice” side but still offers some valuable insights and is very good at what he does. Namely, Coffeezilla explores financial scams or shady business practices and calls out the perpetrators using well researched analysis. While there are probably not a lot of tangible takeaways to the viewer my personal opinion is that this channel does a great job of warning viewers about common schemes and reminding them that the phrase “too good to be true” exists for a reason, all while being exceptionally entertaining and easy to slip into the YouTube rabbit hole of an extended video series.
